Happy Thanksgiving 2013!

whoa! what a week this is!

today, we wrapped up CC for the semester - woohoo!
tomorrow, we celebrate thanksgiving at my sister's - yum!
friday, i go in for my final NST (non stress test)
saturday, we celebrate our jewel's 9th birthday with family and friends.
sunday, i go in for blood work.
monday, i deliver.

random thoughts that are going through my mind as we usher in the next phase of our lives with the introduction of baby #3... no nickname yet.

1. i'm so grateful for CC but right now i'm really grateful it's over for the semester.
2. trying to learn how to pipe a cupcake and get a desired result when i have ZERO decorating practice is a stressful and miserable experience when you're only a few days away from delivering.
i confess, i didn't think it wasn't going to be a big deal and i had a perfectly good plan in place for making these bowling cupcakes.  a friend, who walked me through the process and who's done a zillion cakes, assured me this was easy peasy.  let me tell you... the results were disastrous!  it looked like creamy vomit. it was clumpy, and runny at the same time. it wasn't evenly distributed, and i couldn't get the twizzlers to stick. so imagine: vomit with streaks of red. yup.

it reminds me of the time i fast forwarded through a 10 minute youtube clip on how to cut men's hair and then i tried to cut my man's hair. yup. that was the last time he let me touch the clippers.

i'm on to plan b, so i'm really hoping this will turn out better. i'm thinking friday will be my practice day.  we'll see how that turns out.

3. people ask me if i'm ready for baby 3. honestly, i need to get past saturday before i can even think about this poor kiddo.  however, i do confess that i'm really looking forward to monday, because it'll probably be the first time in a really long time that i will be able to rest.

4. so these days my stress level is high. which unfortunately, also seems to raise my OCD-tendencies level. not a good combo.

however, i would like to end on a good note.

the Lord is gracious and this year, I am thankful for His bountiful blessings upon my family.  He is sovereign over all.  He knows our needs and meets us where we are.  We are surrounded by His glory and are grateful, in faith, for the way He is perfecting us into His likeness.   Sola gloria.
